This page has mostly work from a few years ago. This year has been a busy one & was mostly filled with being a single mom, rebuilding my studio,& traveling. Now the studio is complete & this winter I will be starting to build a new portfolio & promise to have new images up by spring!
These are the wonderful teachers I have learned much from over the past 6 years,
Shane Fero & Fred Birkhill (who I consider my biggest influences & mentors, they were my first teachers & have taught me more about
glass, the community & its history than anyone!)
also...Paul Stankard, Lucio Bubacco, Milon Townsend, Sally Prasch, Loren Stump, Emilio Santini, Kristina Logan, Eric Goldschmidt, Beth Lipman, Roger Parramore, Jen Zitkov, Marcel Braun, Walter Hellbach, Robert Mickelsen, and Vittorio Costantini
Also all the talented friends I have made in my travels (too many to list but you know who you are!) have had as much of an influence on my life & my work as all the classes combined!

This 10" panel was made during an experimental class I took at Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina. Our focus was a class project of a three panel depiction of the Divine Comedy. This was my first practice piece for the process we were experimenting with. I made the silhouetted figures flat on the torch with soft glass. In the hot shop I arranged powders and frits inside a graphite mold and hot glass was ladled over it then the figures were added, torched briefly and another layer of clear glass was ladled over them. The scene depicted is of a Devil holding his pitchfork up triumphantly displaying the severed head of the Angel.

This is a piece I made during Roger Parramores class to Penland School of Crafts in August 2002. I had only been working with glass for a year and a half at the time. It was my 3rd figure I had ever attempted and my first goblet. The Mermaid is clear and sandblasted with a design running down the sides of her tail.

Class instructors Lucio Bubacco and Paul Stankard. The focus of this class was to create (as a class) three panels depicting the Devine Comedy. The pics in this group are the components of each panel Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory before they were cast into panels. There are also photos of our class and Lucio and Paul and me. Special Thanks to Andy (Andrew Jackson Pollack, pictured in the lower right of the class photo)for sending me the Photos!!!
