After over a year of experimenting with color compatibilities, kiln schedules and finishing processes, the results are well worth the effort and wait. "Cityscape" was ready just in time to premier at the International Flameworking Conference at Salem Community College in New Jersey. The response was immediate and wonderful. The piece includes flameworked milli, cast boro, sandcarving, grinding/wheel carving, and electroformed copper. Measures 10.5
inches in height, 5 1/8 inches at its widest point and 17mm deep

Crashing the kiln
This is a shot taken at the climax of the boro-casting process. Skutt was kind enough to work with me to tweak the “Clamshell Kiln” so that it can quickly ramp to the extreme temperatures necessary for this process.
