Dichro Dragon

I made this huge (almost 4in long!) dragon pendant for the CBS dichroic contest 2008. It features pattern dichro for the teeth and dichroic galaxies in the eyes. I was going to sell him, but I received an honorable mention in the contest and, therefore, lots of free glass (worth at least as much as I would have made from the pendant); so, I decided to keep him for myself! I have been working with glass since 1998, when I happened to get a job at Glasscraft following my new found interest in making glass beads. I started doing production full time in 2001, having picked up as much information as I could from random blowers and Glasscraft employees- and of course, Homer Hoyt. Today I find time to make art in between my huge production orders. I am looking forward to using my skills in different media to combine with glass for hopefully more expressive work. I am inspired by the awesome works of artists, including the glass artists on this site; as well as beauty I find in nature and in music.

KILLER!!!!!!
PyroManiacal: Really mean awsome work. I broke my dragon #4 into chunky bits, but it will rise from the realm of dead glass dragons once I complete the sacred ritual of the recycling ceremony. Hopefully it will not return as a soulless, demon-possessed pet dragon bent on devouring human flesh!
It would be really cool to make one with seperate pieces connected by some kind of bendy wire, and padded between the JOINTS!
