These are pictures from Ed Shmids fall concentration class @ Penland. This was the first Hot Shop class I've ever taken. I really enjoyed the class & Ed is a wonderful teacher, however I discovered quickly that I'm a Flameworker at heart! I took the class just to learn the basics of the hot shop. Ed told us those 2 months were equal to 2 years of normal classes. (i'm having problems uploading pics so I'll try to put more up tomorrow)

the torch shop was open to our class during the last few weeks. I hadn't made a spiderweb in years so i figured I'd try one in spruce pine glow glass.

Ed put a sign up sheet up & poeple from every other class and even locals & people who had worked there for quite a while signed up and we (the students) taught them to make something... there was a huge response & it was a really fun day! The girl I taught (Dani, from clay) even ended up being my assistant for the last few weeks.
