Feathered Glass Chandelier

This 34"x34"x34" mixed media lit Sculpture, utilizes new kiln cast glass techniques to create or engineer "Space".
Loosely based on Sumac Leaf Motifs (Frank Lloyd Wright) and the overlap of costumed feathers (Mardi Grass Indians), this highlights my version of Arts and Crafts design principles; it may appear dramatic, but it mimics or fits this spaces aesthetic.
The copper plated steel frame safely supports the glass (meets UL 1598-7.2 code standards), and acts as an important design element or highlight- this “exposed beam” or skeleton and skin construction technique, places the viewer between the glass and easily changed incandescent bulbs; the result is projected light ot the images/colors on the ceiling/walls.
The multiple colors change dramatically from bright yellow when back-lit, to blue/green with reflected light.
