Rairakku means lilac in Japanese. The colors make me think of my grandmother's lilac bush she had at their old house. I remember how it smelled so good and it really looked like a tree to me. From a distance the flowers all appeared one color but when I looked close I could see a bit of blue or violet color in the blooms as well.

Named after a moon of Mars. This was going to be used in one of my Sentinel designs but I changed my mind and decided I like it "as is".

I've been drawing since I could hold a crayon, thanks to my mother who is also an artist. It wasn't until I began working with hot glass May 2005 that something really sparked inside of me. As a self-taught glass artist, I hope my beads are just the beginning of a long and adventurous career into this astounding medium.
