This is a new effect I have been exploring and using alot in my work. it combines the use of sandblasting, painting, and gold and copper leaf applications..the title of this piece was inspired by the words of cuban musician Carlos Puebla for comandante Che Guevara in the song "Hasta Siempre Comandante"

"Perception is the medium." This is the title of a new book I am working on that is set to be released sometime in 07 featuring my artwork, philosophies, etc pertaining to glass and art in general. I have an image in my profile pics that is the cover in progress for my book. it is also a piece of art, not just a blank page... remeber perception is the medium and nothing is exterior to the mind! I became intrigued with this concept while studying the Op Art movement and painter Bridget Riley who introduced me to the idea that PERCEPTION IS THE MEDIUM.

this vessel is made of Trautman Red Elvis, and Amber Elvis solid coil pot sections. I intentionally left the Amber sections mostly unstruck because I loved the color but this color can achieve a variety of hues from yellow to purlpe to dark amber..
