In 2001 Josh began flameworking and was instantly hooked. In 2004 he began a series of Native American sculptures after winning the EGS Flame-off with his sculpture “Native American Drum”. He has recently began a series of sculptures inspired by the Faerieworld, the land between Heaven and Earth that we journey to when we dream. Glass is his medium of choice because of the properties of glass. Both while molten hot and finished product, glass exhibits a spiritual quality that is not found in any other material. The dance the artist does with the flowing glass is an exercise in mindfulness and expression of the divine through creativity. “My spirit is fed by myths and stories, and by my adventures in the realm of imagination. My artwork is a physical manifestation of the themes and ideas that inspire me on my journey.”
