Multiple layered fused glass for the Sahara Desert scene bordered with mosaic design of murrini's complemented by Michael Angelo Menconi of The Contemporary Studio of Glass Art and pieces of sheet glass. Set in a cast iron frame with additional custom design hooks for the blown glass capsule necessary for the scroll that holds the non-fiction narrative. Iron initials are also customized and welded in the frame. "My Sahara" is a chapter and also a part of the puzzle of the "Gypsy Series" masterpiece I am currently working on. "My Sahara" is inspired by a heroin I admire and is a story about love, promise, beauty and the horrible end of a vibrant spirit that I had once known. It is a narrative spoken through visual metaphors and symbolism of experiences of disillusionment of betrayal. This glass artwork is dedicated in memory of this extraordinary spirited heroin.
