Here are a few images of the work that I'm currently producing. As well as blowing glass, I've been a tattoo artist for 10 years now. I've researched, in-depth, the history of tattoos, and there rise to social acceptability.
I consciously choose to make my work dealing with the Maori tribes of New Zealand because they had some amazingly pure traditions that were exploited and bastardized by the Europeans settlers. During this exploitation the preserved heads of the tribes loved ones went from being an innocent tradition to being a valuable commodity. The Mokomokai (or preserved/tattooed heads) are some amazing examples of tattooing and scarification from 200+ years ago.
These pieces are all blown, sculpted and hand carved.

Thank you for viewing my gallery. I started blowing glass in the Fall of 2002 at the Cleveland Institute of Art, and graduated in May 2006. I currently live, work and teach glassblowing in Brooklyn, NY. I thank you for taking the time to view my artwork.
