I've been working with glass since 2005. I started off in a hot shop. I was taking lessons and just trying to learn the flow of the glorious goop... As time went by i decided to become an apprentice... It was for high school but it was a nice learning experience. From there i learned some general things from sandblasting to slumping (soft glass) and got a small amount of bead related boro experience. With high school coming to an end I decided to go to college for Fine Arts in the fall of 06, where I would play around in the hot shop most the time.
As time went by, all I could think of was boro and wanting to do it... ever after using boro, I never thought of soft glass as the same... felt like i had been missing out on what I really wanted to do. So I left college and busted my ass off and bought all the supplies and tools. As of mid March 2007 I have been working with boro constantly and loving nearly every moment of it. Aside from my small amount of boro bead work, pretty much all my knowledge has came from the GLDG, i'd be lost with out those people. can't thank them enough.
