WITH ALL THE ELEMENTS THAT ARE GIVEN TO US IN THIS REALITY WE CALL LIFE,FROM THE PETTY MATERIAL REALMS,FROM THE COSMIC REALMS OF UNEXPLAINED FATE, THROUGH CREATIVE THOUGHTS OF AN UNIQUE BEINGS. I HAVE FOUND A KIND OF BALANCE WITH A COLLAGE OF THE THREE. ALL MY LIFE I HAD FELT AN DEEP DRIVE TO CREATE WITH MY HANDS. FIRST AS A CHILD DRAWING WAS MY OUTLET,THEN CAME MUSIC.IT WASN'T TILL I WAS 23 YEARS OLD THAT glassBLOWING CAME IN TO MY LIFE. THREW THE YEARS I HAVE FOUND MYSELF ENGULFED IN MY WORKS. THRIVING TO TAME THE BEAST TO HAVE TOTAL CONTROL OF THIS MEDIUM. AT THIS POINT IN MY CAREER I HAVE CAME TO A PEACEFUL PLAIN IN LAMPWORKING ,READY TO FULLY EXPRESS MY LIFES WORKS.
WITH THIS YEAR AHEAD YOU WILL SEE A MORPHING CHANGE IN MY WORKS THAT I HOPE MORE BEINGS WILL BE INSPIRED WITH. WITH THIS SAID I HOPE TO ALL THAT ARE EXPRESSING THEIR SELVES IN WHICH EVER FORM THAT YOU ARE. PEACE WITH YOU AND YOUR EXPRESSION WITH YOUR ART!

For those of you who havn't took a class from Robert Micklesen go sign up for one. I have been melting glass for 13 years now and all my technic and style has came blessed fully for free from my friends in glass (mostly from legendary Clinton Roman). but i can say that i am grateful that i spent my first bit of money with Robert.not just for his kindness to give love for glass to you but also to be apart of the chemistry between him and the students. here is my class project that i did in the October class.this is a piece that i have been working on prfecting and he helped my by cleaning my technics up and making everthing more realistic to scale. With the end of a great weekend with Robert Mickelsen & class,I have not only found a better sense of direction with my artistic side but a greater appreciation for life once again. For those of you that don't know me or known me and lost touch through the years,i came down with diabetes around 5 years ago.I was in denial of my body shutting down on me and refused medical treatment and it caused my body to have bad blood cells start to collect around my prostate which caused me to be diagnose with Cancer.With this i gave up. It was through fate that a kind soul name Tara Leigh Roberts crossed my path and gave me hope again and saved my life. With this said, I was giving a second chance in life.So i have put my all in to my art and helping people with the best of my knowledge in art ever since.With this said i would like to thank Clinton Roman for giving me the ability of expression through glass,Robert Mickelsen for reminding me to be the best you can be.Tara Roberts for saving my li

Here's one of my latest trigger clown fish series pieces that i have for you to check out.I am very happy with the detailing that im getting out of these pieces of lately,the technic of raking the scales that Robert Micklesen helped me with is working out nicely on my fish latly too.got a lot of new ideas that i will be adding to these pieces this new year and i will be going a bit bigger to with my new kiln that i just got in last week as well.hope to see some comments on my work that will add to my designs of the works as well.-by John W. Every Year the Turtles of the sea lay their eggs on the sandy shores of our beaches world wide,with the offspring to hatch and race for the salty ocean water's. This is my latest tribute to one of many of our endangered species on the planet we call Earth. As of now there are three sub-species of Sea Turtles that are on the endangered specie list. Tara and I were talking recently about our art and how we can make more awareness with it so this is how we have decided to do so.I hope you like and are inspired by my art!- John W. Roberts 12/09

We have a fellow lampworker in our community that need our support!We recently did a Down the Street Bead Show with Shannon's parterns Jessica and Biddy down in Pompano and found out that Shannon has fallen ill with lung cancer.I talked with Jessica about a collaboration with the glass community to help Shannon out. I got a call a week later and she was making it happen.Jessica ask me to help with reaching out to the people in our community for support on the project that her ,Biddy and Ray Olson were putting together. WE HAVE A PIECE OF PROPERTY SOUTH OF ATLANTA THAT WE ARE FARMING TREE ON.WHEN WE CLEARED THE TREES TO REPLANT I WAS COMBING THE GROUNDS AROUND A OLD CIVIL WAR HOUSE AND FOUND THIS GREEN GLASS. I TOOK IT HOME AND IT SAT ON MY BENCH FOR A MONTH. ONE DAY I WAS CURIOUS ABOUT THE COE,SO I DID A COE TEST WITH BORO AND WITH SOFT.THE SOFT GLASS WAS A LOWER COE THAN THE GLASS SO I TRIED THE BORO. TO MY AMAZEMENT IT WAS PRETTY DAMN CLOSE TO 33. SO I TOOK A PIECE AND BALLED IT UP AND PULLED IT OUT AND WOW IT WORKED A LOT LIKE BORO.I MADE SOME MANDREL BEADS THAT I STASHED AWAY AND THESE CHOP STICK TO SHOW YOU GUYS.I HAVE TWO PIECES LEFT THAT I AM GOING TO SAVE FOR A COOL PROJECT I HAVE IN MIND.THOUGHT IT WAS PRETTY COOL....IM GOING BACK FOR MORE GLASS.-JOHN W.
