Collaboration between Nathan Purcell and I. This piece is now in the private collection of Lehigh Valley Hospital. Two people drink simultaneously from the vessel, hence 'drinker's hookah.'

Joshua Opdenaker runs his studio through the Philadelphia Glass Works. After studying stone carving in college he began lampworking in 2002 and has learned the techniques to convey his own messages and theories through his sculpture. His work never gets stale by constantly changing subject matter. Josh's style is impossible to generalize or classify.

_________IN MY OWN WORDS________ i believe that the beauty of glass sculpting comes from the never ending struggle for perfection in theory and in execution. The art is not in the finished piece itself; the art is in the process of physically making the work.
