Here's a few pics of my intro marble making classes in Germany.
The classes (two 2 day classes) were held at Glaspunkt studio in Burghausen, Germany which is east of Munich on the Austrian border.
Classes went really well since most spoke English. My hosts, Isi and Gert were tremendous translators for me. Isi and Gert teach, make beads and marbles and manufacture torches, oxycons, and kilns. They also supply glass and publish a German lampworking magazine Vorsicht Glas! Do they ever sleep?! Check them out at www.isibeads.de.
Sigi, the owner of Glaspunkt (www.glaspunkt.de), is by far the most amazing glass blowing talent I have ever met. He is a classically trained German scientific glassblower but also an artist. I've included pics of some of his work.
Germany was amazing and I eagerly await the day that I can buy a one way ticket back to Bavaria.

I've been working with glass for about five years now, mostly part-time. In the last year and a half, my focus has primarily been marble making with borosilicate. Once in a while I'll mix it up with soft glass beads and jewelry, boro beads, and functional pieces.
