(Carved and Etched Glass Art)

"Endangered" by Lesley Pyke "Endangered" is a crystal cullet from a remote glass factory in northern France which I have hand engraved with a selection of the top most endangered bugs in the UK. Apart from polishing the harshest edges, I kept it in its raw state. A percentage of the proceeds of its sale will be going to buglife.org.uk . This piece was shortlisted for the 2007 Glass Sellers Engraved Award.
Presently on Exhibition and for sale at London Glassblowing in the Glass Sellers Award Exhibition.
"The Cullet was in danger of being destroyed in a remote glass factory in Northern France, I was offered the opportunity to save it. The bugs are in the top 20 in the list of endangered bugs. The bugs are delicate and fragile as is the cullet itself. I did not know whether it may shatter during engraving and become extinct, as the bugs may be doomed but just may survive as long as they are protected, protect this cullet and these bugs may last forever."

I am a professional glass engraver, I have been in the business since 1983, after a myriad of fascinating commissions from a huge variety of customers, I am still challenged daily by my customers and when I have time I create my own pieces of art which I have permanently on exhibition for sale.

Please have a look at my website where I also have a selection of short videos of my engraving.

Good Job Once again!
That must have been an interesting task to engrave such a strangely shaped piece. You ever work with Jiri Harcuba? Just curious.

Hope you get your glass sellers prize.

Thanks Rex, first thing I did was polish the edges as they were deadly and I would have sliced myself up! But I only just took the sharpness off, I wanted it to still look raw.
I do know of Jiri's work but have not met him. I love that style.

Awsome
I really like how the chunck of glass has a history behind it, adds life to the piece, which is beautiful already.
