A new field... Sculptured beads.

A new field... Sculptured beads.

I have decided to try and expend myself in glass.
I really wanted to try out some boro beads and sculpturing was something I really missed since I began to sell glass pendants for my living.
So, it is true, they do take longer to make but I really like how they turned out :-).
Thanks for looking, Orr.

American - Israeli colab

American - Israeli colab

Ez Eddy came by and granted me with a visit, I felt very honored to meet this talented artist and wonderful person, this was the first time I saw somone working boro except for myself.
We had a great time together and I only hope next time we could spend some more...
We had very limited time so we decided to make a little colab work.
Since Ed had to leave early I had to assamble this goblet alone (never done that before...) I believe it turned out nice after all.
Thank you Ed!!!

Full body attempt...

Full body attempt...

a year and four months on the torch.
This is the first attempt to create full human figure.
after assambling the limbs my kiln kept causing the electricity to fail and fall.
i decided i better not continue in shaping the head 'till i solve the problem so i did the best flame annealing i could do in order to not creack it.
after cooled, as i fixed the prob' it set a night at the annealer.
will continue today.
thanx 4 watching!

human figure attempts...

human figure attempts...

a year and three months on the torch.
I wanted to try and make a nice human figure, but i came to an understanding that in order to be satisfied of a final piece i have to be satisfied with every bit of it.
so i take the time to practice every element, untill i think it's perfect.

thanx for watching.

(Boro)

* I have to give a big credit to the artist Jeremy Bizzano, both for inpiring me and for the idea of rice as background (i can see many are using it now, i think he was the first though).

torch
The torches that have surface mix center fires that I have worked on all did that. You can turn on the outer o2 ring slightly to clear this up and maintain a good o2/gas mix for colorwork. Anyway, I enjoyed visiti8ng your gallery and will check up frequently for new pictures. Keep it up!

gassy torch
This has happened on my carslisle before. It could be a blocked oxygen port, either clogged with glass or carbon buildup. Try giving it a good scrub and clean each port with torch tip cleaners from the welding shop. Helpfull?

otherwise it's probably a leaky gas port in the outer fire, so turning on the outer oxy just a bit will work, and give you a nicer flame for dichro and crayon colors.

NICE GLASS WORK!
