The final project from the Intermediate Fused Glass class at Mitcavish Studio in Napa, this glass billet was created with 5 layers. Three 1/4" layers were "painted" with powders. Two 1/8" layers were used as spacers to give the image some depth.

I used a quote from "As a Man Thinketh" by James Allen. I actually got turned on to this book by a glass artist interview in a glass mag.
|
You can begin to see the layers on the edge of the billet.

Shows the layers.

Translucent to let the light through. This piece looks great with a dancing candle flame behind it.
