(Boro/Borosilicate/Pyrex Glass Beads)

Vitro-glyphs These designs are from ancient Alutiiq petroglyphs found on Kodiak Island, Alaska. I call my version vitro-glyphs because I am writing in glass. The pieces are not actually beads with holes in them. I wanted them to look like stones, so no holes yet. They are boro and the frit is blue moon.

I have been working boro since 1974, when I owned a crafts gallery and teaching studio in Anchorage. A lot has changed since then! I make perfume bottles, oil lamps and ornaments. I also make jewelry with boro and do all my own metal work.
