Hollow Vessels

I am still improving in the process of making symmetrical vessels. Usually, I prefer to create more organic forms.

Christmas Spiders

Christmas Spiders

The old German legend of the Christmas spider is that the spiders of the house would all hide in the attic as the holiday cleaning and decorating was being done. Late at night the spiders crept out to wonder at the beauty of the Chrismas tree. In their excitement, they crawled all over the tree leaving webs behind. When Jesus' spirit visited the home he wondered at the beauty of the webs and turned them into gold and silver to honor the spiders. This is the reason we put tinsel on our Chrismas trees to this day.

I have been working with glass since 1998, when I happened to get a job at Glasscraft following my new found interest in making glass beads. I started doing production full time in 2001, having picked up as much information as I could from random blowers and Glasscraft employees- and of course, Homer Hoyt. Today I find time to make art in between my huge production orders. I am looking forward to using my skills in different media to combine with glass for hopefully more expressive work. I am inspired by the awesome works of artists, including the glass artists on this site; as well as beauty I find in nature and in music.

Beadnik: I browsed the whole gallery ... but my eyes are "married" with the candle holders (such precious blend of colors!).
