last summers demonstrations i tried to do a really laborious piece at each course last year. the blue are from Penland and Sheridan College in Toronto. the green, Revere Academy in Berkeley CA. i'm posting my schedule of classes for this year and can barely wait for all the crazy f's that i'll surely meet..

Matthew Eskuche
Craftsmanship. Technique. Intrigue. Form. Concept. non-conformity. All of these are values that I feel make one's work pertinent.

At times I concentrate on design and form, repeatedly producing a blown shape, aiming to create it with control and uniformity. I explore the nuances of each shape that I come across in the process. Other days I watch the glass and follow it's lead. However, without the ability to bring out symmetrical, balanced shapes at the torch I would feel no license to let the glass speak for itself or just hang where it may.

I mean to express in my work a conscious and purposeful execution of these ideas.
