Bobbie the Bobblehead

Bobbie the Bobblehead

Bobbie is 3 3/4" tall with a solid base and hollow torso and head. He's got a strong spring to give him just the right amount of movement.

Porthole Vessels

Porthole Vessels

Similar to my Secret Stash vessels, these windows create more of a porthole type appearance.

I let the glass form it's natural elliptical shape, which was created by the imbalance of glass. It has one handle and is designed to show the front and the bottom windows.

When you look directly through the two side windows, you see a small pinpoint of light in the center of the lens. It's very cool. (I couldn't capture it with the camera, so you'll just have to believe me.)

Sculptural Vessels

Sculptural Vessels

This perky, yet robust, young lady was created to add to a recent string of "inspired by Kevan (Aponte)" posts on Lampwork Etc. Most were referring to her awesome organics, but of course I thought - Goddess Mouth!

"I'm Too Sexy's" got some attitude cause she thinks she's all that! She was fun to make, but she's even more fun to giggle at.

Disclaimer: Any resemblance to any person living or dead is purely coincidental. :)

Borosilicate Implosions

Borosilicate Implosions

I have a new love. Boro! Experimenting with implosion designs can create some fun results.

Some of these have glued-on bails (oh, no!) because I wanted to play instead of concentrating on the hard part.

Thanks for looking.

A Study in Faces

A Study in Faces

My love of all things sculptural has taken me down many paths over the years, with different media. But from the moment I lit my first torch, I knew I had found THE vehicle for my creative expression. Glass! And yes, I'm sure you've read that statement in many glass artists' bios. I know I have. But man, can I relate! After a recent class with the one and only Sharon Peters, my glass creations seem to literally come to life before my eyes. I hope these guys make you smile. Thanks for visiting.

I'm Lisa Rippee and have been flameworking since March of 2005. The first few years, I learned from books and several glass forums, and a lot of trial and error. :) I have recently studied with Sharon Peters, Tink Martin & John Cramer, and Brent Graber.

I have the great fortune of working at Bearden's Stained Glass in Overland Park, Kansas.

Thanks for taking a look at my gallery.
