Dragonfly

Dragonfly

I did this a few years ago for my pops. Its body is cut and welded steel roundstock with blue furnace blown glass eyes. It's now mounted to the front of my parents house.

Getting Serious

Getting Serious

I've changed my technique from the old pendants and decided to make beaded chains for these guys. All the pendants are boro and the chains are all different types of stones. Hope you enjoy!

Lamp

Lamp

This lamp consists of many different materials. The head is made of fiberglass with acrylic paint over it, the clear tube is borosilicate 31mm heavy wall filled with oil on top (yellow) water with food coloring (red) and karo syrup with food coloring (blue). The base is a piece of square steel tubing welded to a 20 inch bicycle wheel. The piece deals with transparency and use of light. There is a light on each side of the glass tubing which emits light through the liquids on the stem and a light bulb that sits behind the top (the head). When placed in the corner of a dark room, the red lightbulb in it creates a glow of red against the wall, and allows you to see the transparency of the fiberglass and acrylic paint.

Magnifying Optical Table

Magnifying Optical Table

This table is made of Beech wood, a digital image printed on vinyl, clear sheet glass, and stage light lenses. Inlayed into the top of the table are 5 magnifying lenses that i took out of old stage lights. About 9 inches below the lenses, sits the shelf which the digital image of yellow red and orange squares is inlayed into. When you look down at the table any slight movement creates a seperate composition in each magnifying lense. Also when you look the colors blend together, tricking you eye to see pinks and sometimes even blue.
