I made this huge (almost 4in long!) dragon pendant for the CBS dichroic contest 2008. It features pattern dichro for the teeth and dichroic galaxies in the eyes. I was going to sell him, but I received an honorable mention in the contest and, therefore, lots of free glass (worth at least as much as I would have made from the pendant); so, I decided to keep him for myself! Visit the contest page to see all the other great works of dichroic art...

I made this in 2008, for the Dichrome contest. Unfortuantely it was too small and fragile and it ended up breaking during the drilling process. I glued it back together and she'll end up on the dash of Rose's 51 Pontiac.

These are hollow sculptures, all custom pieces for friends, representing things that they love. I will keep adding to this gallery as my work continues...

Ok, I know it's still technically spring, but it feels like summer here in Denver. Maybe there are no real roses in bloom here yet, but I can sure make one to enjoy. By the way, it really does smell good!! I coat the petals with rose oil. That's my lovely cousin, Rose, in the picture. Enjoy the Rose on rose action!!!2007

I am totally obsessed with moving parts in glass. I want the glass to flow cold just as it does when it's hot.

These are hollow glass bracelets and barettes I have been experimenting with. The bracelets are more comfortable and lighter than same-sized solid bracelets. The barretes are hollow with a peice of elastic cord running through it. I tie a knot in the cord, then try to force it inside the peice.

I really hate to waste glass! Any time I have cool looking scraps I make them into jewelry, or better yet, attachments for larger pieces. Here are some of my scrappy jewelry items.

I am still improving in the process of making symmetrical vessels. Usually, I prefer to create more organic forms.

I have been working with glass since 1998, when I happened to get a job at Glasscraft following my new found interest in making glass beads. Quickly, I ended my relationship with soft glass and mandrels and found borosilicate much more fun to work with. I started doing production full time in 2001, having picked up as much information as I could from random blowers and Glasscraft employees- and of course, Homer Hoyt. Today I find time to make art in between my huge production orders. I am looking forward to using my skills in different media to combine with glass for hopefully more expressive work. I feel glass art can be much more technique oriented than anything, and I am excited to see some of the more expressive works being created currently. I am inspired by the awesome works of artists, including the glass artists on this site; as well as beauty I find in nature and in music.
