My name's Tyler Nugent-Axt. I am a senior at R.A. Long High School in Longview, WA and at my school every senior is required to do a senior project. I chose flameworking for mine. I am just starting out and I don't have a real mentor so my pieces aren't going to be too great, but I would appreciate some constructive criticism. Since I have no real mentor I just visit different flameworkers and learn 1 or 2 things from each of them. If you live in Southwest Washington or Northwest Oregon and are willing to teach me 1 or 2 things about your craft please contact me and maybe I could come visit, thanks.

Flowers

Flowers

The second technique I have learned. I am still in the process of developing on it. Any constructive criticism is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Me in my Dungeon

Me in my Dungeon

Just some random pics of me at my workbench. These pictures were taken for my senior project presentation. No pictures of any of my completed projects so far. In the process of getting a better camera and a background set up, though. And, yes, this is in my dark and insect infested basement. :(

Mushroom Pendants

Mushroom Pendants

Pendants are pretty much all I know how to do. I took the mushroom shape that I learned when I first started and expanded upon it during the many hours I spent experimenting with my glass. These are some of the best ones (in my opinion) that I have done. If you'd like to see them all please check out my website www.freewebs.com/sirdougsgl... hope you enjoy these as much as I do!

Side Note: I mostly just make mushroom pendants at the moment. Occasionally I make a special one that I think is better than the rest that I'll post on here.

Thank you.
Thank you for the comment. I read your gallery page and the best advice I can give is just stay at it. Practice makes perfect. Also, ask lots of questions most glass workers are happy to help.
