CollaborationsPosted by Cuatro Kruse on 7/30/2006Working with another artist is always a fun way to expand your vocabulary as a glassblower. I love to look at other poeple's collabs, it's interestiong to see how multiple artists can make one flowing piece through fucused co-operation. I look foreward to many more joint eforts in the future...

This marble was a blast to make, I decided to leave the seam clear so you can see each pattern overlapping from either side. Bashi made the silver dot implosion, and I did the fume twist/bubble/eye side and the pinwheel middle. One of the coolest things about this marble is the crazy solar kaleidoscope effect, depending on how you hold it in the light you can get many different colored projections to occur, this spawned a whole new area of exploration for me. Collaborating rules! |

Bashi and I have been collaborating through the mail recently, He made the perfume vase and I made the stopper. Silver fume and unobtainium are the main colors used, with some light teal as well. Bashi is fun to work with, our collaborations have given me many new ideas to work on. I look foreward to more mail work in the future! |

This was the first piece Mark Mccourt and I made in our recent 3 day collaboration session. We weren't planning on working the first day, but we couldn't resist some good old late night glassbowing action. So we headed out to the shop and decided to make a goblet. We put this piece together very smoothly, it went very fast. I really like how our styles came together, the cup and foot are made by Mark, and I made the Seaform stem. It is a nice combination of abstract sculpture and fine venetian lampwork. True height is 11 in. I look foreward to many more collaborations with Mark in the future... |

This intricate piece is the third produced by Mark Mccourt and I. This time I made the foot and top, and Mark made a very detailed sculpture of an orchid growing out of a little flower pot and attached it to a tree or root style stem. I really love how this piece came together, it is much different than anything I have made before. Mark did all the assembly, and his experience with larger pieces certainly shows. True height is 13&3/4 in. This piece is proudly displayed at my shop in Durango, CO. |

This awesome piece was a 3 way effort by Mark Mccourt, my sister Grace Kruse and I. I have been in the same shop with Grace for about 3 years, and we have collaborated before, but This 3 way collab was a first for all of us. It was really fun to put together. The foot, cup, and arms of the nude are made by Mark, Grace made the body, and I made the Seaform stem. Mark did the assembly, and It wouldn't fit in the kiln so mark flame annealed it. True height is 16&1/4 in. Definetly Grace and I's largest piece, but mark has made bigger ones before, he did a great job on the assembly, the piece stands very straight. Currently on display at my shop in Durango, but I am looking for an interested gallery or collector... |
