There are no real words in my book because I believe ART to be a universal language and wanted viewers of all ages and backgrounds to be able to interact with my piece and decipher there own interpretations and take away from it what they can.

metal, glass, handmade paper, glue, linen, ect....

This book is meant to be a visual vacation for the viewer, transporting them to a safe, secure environment that is meant to feel like home.

Coincidently the main imagery is based on my personal home and back yard so this book also has many qualities of a self portrait or dream environment constructed from my own personal surroundings

The main imagery is a tire swing hanging from a tree. This is a very simple concept, but can represent many things; Freedom, innovation, fun, serenity, resourcefuln... and childhood memories to name a few.

The viewer, seeing the cover may infer that the book has something to do with a tire swing. Upon opening, they are magically transported to a 3D world, a safe space, where you can sit and swing under the shade of a chestnut tree

This escape is for anyone that needs a break from there everyday routine, or wants to peer into my world under a microscope. My book has no plot, storyline, or words but does indeed set the mood and environment for one.

Combining my main interest, glass, into the book was one challenge I wanted to face from the beginning. The multi-media collage remainder helped me break a mold I have been stuck in as primarily a glass artist.

lovely
Beautiful thinking, obviously from a gifted mind, of a simpler place where one can relax and enjoy life. It has wonderful balance to the symbolism- the tree being masculine, tall and strong; and the tire swing such a feminine circle, offering to hold and rock the viewer. I love it!
