Decided to take my old beater motorbike from Vancouver BC to the Arcata glass school last week for the Mickelsen workshop. Huge thanks to Robert Mickelsen for being such a great teacher, and also to Daniel Benway for running such an awsome school. Thanks alot to everyone there for such a great time, especially Mouse for hookin up a place to stay ( carefull with the rest of your moonshine....). Time to go get a sandblaster!

JULY. 23-30,2008 a whole week of demos, collabs, workshops, and fun. Any and All GlassWorkers welcome!! Held on Redbeard's organic farm only 20 min. north of pemberton, BC. This summer, the pemberton festival (tragically hip/tom petty, etc.) will attract over 40,000 people to our backyard. We have a campground, amphitheater and stage, art gallery, outbuildings, and we've reserved a 60x20 ft tent/canopy with sides for work stations plus sandblasting booth and other cold working stations......live music, cold beer, and glass galore!! This event is being generously sponsored by Puff, Praxair and Andrighetti Glass. Entrance is by suggested donation of $50 depending on your finances and will cover gas, glass and live music.
The schedule is still coming together, we're looking for volunteers for demos, musicians. The weekend of the gathering will feature our " ill-legit art show", where the public will be invited to come check out our stuff and rock out to our own concert. Blowers interested in the flame off should call and reserve space. The rules haven't been decided yet but will likely be a time limit of 8-12 hours and made from scratch here, NO making sections at home.
What to Bring- We have an outdoor kitchen and shower plus there is a lake 5 mins past the farm, hotsprings are 1 hour away. Things you might need, tent and cooking stuff, bikes, lake floaties, food and booze, torch, tools, regulators, and anything you need to work. If you feel like bringing a kiln we can use extras! NO DOGS please! We have farm animals and our own dogs that like their space. To get here- Head through Whistler, Pemberton and Mount Currie towards Birken. It's about a 25km drive from Gas station in Pemberton. We will have sherlock signs to help you find your way. There's lots of room, so i hope everyone can come! come for a day, or a week.

Finally got around to a small series of these custom shifter knobs made for all those Toyota fans out there. These come with threaded metal inserts mounted in the knobs so they actually spin on. No more of those crappy aftermarket mini screws to tighten! Can make these for any truck or car. More to come...

I'm 25, have been blowing glass off and on since 2003 and love every minute of it. I am currently residing on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, BC. For most of the time I've been on the torch I've been self taught. Recently I've been lucky enough to work with Robert Mickelsen, Banjo and Chris Windsor, all of whom I've learned alot from. Thanks for checking it out! Feel free to email me at, patrickstratis@hotmail.com
