Hypnotized by the vibration of mineral color and bright light, the danger of handling raw shards and jagged edges seems slight and even enticing. I am obsessed with glass and all the possibilities it promises. Making experimental work for myself sparks my imagination and passion for stained glass as art, as paintings to hang in the sun. The earth seems to speak through raw glass to me. I am flooded with visions, earthy and organic yet modern, microscopic views to be rendered in stained glass. I am thrilled by visual texture and naturalistic detail melted in micro thin layers, prized finds if even in a three inch scrap. Chance compositions of abstracted nature or alien forms are epiphanies to me. I love to turn and shape the pieces, puzzling a seamless fit and continually searching for the brushstrokes in each piece of glass.
