Borosilicate Sculptures and Figurines

I love making sculptures. I keep trying to push the boundries of what I'm capable of, thus I surprise myself on a regular basis.

Offhand Glassblowing

Offhand Glassblowing

I've been taking glass blowing classes at the Glass Pavilion. I think it is interesting to see the differences and similarities between this and flameworking.

Kiln Formed Glass

Kiln Formed Glass

Before I started flameworking, I tried fusing and slumping. I had a hard time resisting the urge to peek. I took that as a sign that I needed to do something a little more hands-on.

Non- Glass artwork

Non- Glass artwork

I always find it interesting to see what kind of work artists do outside their prefered medium. I feel it gives you a little bit of insight about them. So... Here are some examples of other artwork I've done. To see more, visit my website at www.geocities.com/obsessori... sorry the pictures aren't larger. I'm trying to find the original sized images but they're hiding in my hard drive somewhere. :o)

My name is Malissa Kuznicki and I live in the "Glass City" A.K.A Toledo, Ohio. I've been working with glass since 2003. I started out with slumping and fusing but in 2004 I found flameworking and have done very little fusing since. I've also taken several off-hand glassblowing classes at the Glass Pavilion. Up to this point I've had no formal instruction in flameworking but thanks to books, videos, and some wonderful on-line communities, I'm learning something new everyday! Check out my shop. http://www.ObsessoriesStudios.etsy.com Or see what I'm currently working on at my blog: http://malissakuznicki.blogspot.com/ http://www.myspace.com/obsessories
