Ham Fam Studio is an idea my mother Terry and I have been throwing around since I got behind the flame about a year ago. Thankfully, Mom was the one who passed me the torch or I'd still be using Mapp Gas. Though I'm just a self-taught beginner, my mother on the other hand has roughly 10 years of glass experience including some time at Penland School Of Art. Mom however wasn't always a glass artist, she has worked with many different mediums over the last 30 or so years, from watercolors and pastels to screen printing and Machine-Gun Art (you gotta see it to believe it). She's done so many things in the field of art, that I can't even list them. I'm thankful to have such a great influnce in my life and I'm glad that we can finally work togather as artists.
Terry currently working w/ Soft Glass. Joshua is currently working w/ Boro.

This one of a kind necklace was made for those of us that love large. The torch fired beads were made to complement the 3 1/4" kiln fired ,sand carved focal bead. A bit of dichro was added for sparkle. Evergreen is 19" from the clasp to the tip of the small dangling bead. All silver is sterling. It has been well designed to endure the weight of the glass. I have been working hard there is more to come. I can't have Josh "Hot Hands" Hamra showing me up.

Here's a couple of Vortexes from over the weekend. I've only been making marbles for a little over 6 months...So, I loaded my copy of Tim Keyzers' Hot Glass Workshop Vol. 1 on to my PSP and got inspired. Really Inspired! Unfortunately I couldn't get any really good pics with the digi, but I wanted to post them anyway.

This is a marble that I made towards the end of June. It is all Silver and Gold fuming that has been imploded. It has been a favorite of mine but never sold due to some minor flaws to the back. So...today I got a wild hair and decided to take the trusty 'ol sand blaster to it. This is my first attempt at sand etching and I am very pleased.
This marble will be available on ebay through 8/19/06

I made this Implosion Marble in the wee hours of last night. It was made with Momka's Grapefruit and if you look real hard you can see some silver and gold fuming on the backside.

It's been about 6 months since I've used any tubing and I've never tried any Honeycombs. I had a few more but I traded them for some really nice marbles before I could get any pictures. This is all new to me so PLEASE let me know what you think...I need as much input as possible. Thank You.

Here are a few pics from the Fall Best Bead Show in Tucson. I had a great time meeting some of the artists and I was lucky enough to trade a few marbles while I was there. Hope you all enjoy. Special Thanks to all who traded their work to this young broke artist.

I did some sand blasting this past week with a couple of my marbles from the past week as well as a couple of my older ones. I'm still trying to get used to the blaster and I'm having a lot of fun.

This is probably my largest work to date. It's a 1-7/8" Silver Fumed Vortex w/ a nice pinwheeled back using Caramel, Brown Glitter, Neptune Sparkle, & Jupiter Sparkle.

Most of my marbles are under 2 inches. People keep telling me that I need to make them bigger. This is my way of saying "Size doesn't matter". This one's a whopping 23/32".
