Lit Wall Sconces

Posted by Lindemann Glass on 5/6/2006
These wall sconces are glass attached to a steel frame. I weld the frame and then attach the glass pieces. I'm having a lot of fun with these and since I have lots more ideas I'm planning to make more.

Close-Up
This picture was taken without the light on inside. I need to work on my photographs with the light on inside so I can show the transmitted light as well as the reflected.

I've been having a lot of fun making these Wall Sconces and a bunch of ideas for more. They have a steel interior with glass attached to the outside.

Purple Wall Sconce

Purple Wall Sconce

I finally figured out a good purple to use for my wall sconces. It doesn't look as good in the photos, but I guess it never does. Some day I will figure out how to take proper photos of my lit pieces. This is a welded steel frame with glass attached. I have an order for two of these so when I have both I will post them as a set. 14"W x 23"H Thanks for looking

Radial Wall Sconce

Flameworked glass wall sconce with a welded steel frame. This is the first sconce I've done like this. I think I'll have to do more.

Wall Sconce "Bloom"

Wall Sconce "Bloom"

This is my latest Wall Sconce. 14"W x 20"H. Still perfecting this design. I'm not totally satisfied but I'm getting closer. It looks much better in person cuz lighting is difficult for photography.

Lindemann Glass
I have been working with glass since 1996. I first started during my senior year at UC Santa Cruz as a Biology Major. About halfway through my senior year I got a basic lampworking setup and by the time I graduated I was making enough money to survive. Since then I have been working hard to build my studio, my knowledge, and to continually advance as a glassblower. My first few years I had very little influence from other glass artists and recently I have realized that there are a lot of talented and inspirational artists out there and I am glad I finally feel like I am becoming part of the glass community.
