After 13 years of working as a ceramics sculpture, making ceramic smoking accessories, I have been introduced to lampworking by my main competitor, Lucky. Lucky spent about a month making vortex pendants in my backyard in Feb '03. He encouraged me to give it a try. I instantly fell in love with boro. Within a week of making vortex pendants I decided to try something different. One day I woke up and said how I can put a few vortexes in a pendant, rather than just one. This is where I came up with the inspiration for my Galactic pendants.
After a year of practice and learning I finally had a sellable product line developed and a decent customer base of bead shops. Now it was time to train someone else. Like most lamp workers I had several friends that "wanted to learn". After giving a few of them a try I finally found my "prized student". My youngest son, David, has been working with me ever since. Together we are making quite a father son team!
