I am 29 and have been working glass since 97. With a year off somewhere between that was not by choice but by circumstance. I got a 9 year old little girl and I live in PALO ALTO, California. I have worked mostly by myself and I seem to like it. I do enjoy the company of other glass artist but it seems to be hard to find the people to work with day in and day out. I have worked with and trained many people over the years but find I always end up in some sort of pain over the relationship. Is it just me ? And so I work alone.

    I agree
Travis Weber: I have had some incredible bonds with people while working together. An I love that. I always seem be ended disappointed in the long run. I shut myself off to training people after to many painful let downs and have recently opened up to the idea. Allowing that right person to show up when when ready. Because that connection can be very inspiring and beneficial to the art work and spirit.

    Nice work!
Lindemann Glass: Those are some of the sickest marbles I've seen! I'd love to see some of them in person. I live in Santa Barbara, do you do any shows in CA?
As for shopmates I've had mostly bad experiences as well and unfortunately it was with good friends. Recently though I had someone working in my shop for about a year until he found a house at which he could have a shop. That was actually an excellent experience. We never had any problems and I benefited greatly from his knowledge and experience. So it is possible. Recetly I've been thinking it would be nice to have guest artists in my workshop for a week or two. Maybe that would work better? TL
