Lunette's Song Anthurium andraeanum "Lunette", anthurium crystallinum and spring grass 28" x 18"

We learned an emense amount from the previous antheriums so we employed that knowledge to create the better flower. Up to 6 plus hours of work for each pink antherium, but well worth the effort, be sure and click on one of the close-ups to really see the vein work. Lampworked borosilicate glass, sandblasted, painted.

???
Hyoshi has obviously never done any sandblasting and oil painting... it is very time consuming... I think that is why people like Mickelson hire an assistant to mask and blast everything... I think it looks really sick, and I bet it looks even more beautiful in person... thanks for sharing this heady work...

It's very rewarding for me to take a step back from the torch and do some painting on a 3 dimensional form and now that I get to do it on glass I couldn't be happier. I love the tediousness that these took. Time has to take a back seat to acheive desired results sometimes. If you got an idea of how to get the transparency, the gradiants and the veins all out of mixen up some boro, I would love to know how, please let us know.

paint away!!!!
it would probably take longer to do it with glass not to mention a hell of a lot more expensive! Until the color pallette expands a bit more thats the only way to get the effect you see here.

I say paint away!
