Aquatic Life

(Art Glass Decor)

Aquatic Life When I was young my parents owned a pet shop. I used to sit and stare at the tanks and imagine I was in there exploring. Later in life I was an avid scuba diver, until an accident in 97 that made use of my ankle difficult. I have many memories involving sea life in some way. A few days ago I had a dream about a fish. That day I began making fish. I used techniques I learned in Vittorio Costantini's class at corning last year. although I used borosilicate not soda lime as in the class. The aquatic life I am currently working on are loose representations of actual fish/plants. I am not attempting to replicate specific fish for now. It is freeing to work loosely with this collection.

Aquatic Life Continued

Aquatic Life Continued

Aquatic sculptures continued is a result of my inability to make other projects with out making more aquatic life scuptures as well. It seems my exploration/expression of these pieces is not complete. Enjoy! Feel free to email questions/comments.

detail of 'angel fish' portion of another sculpture. In person the silver foil is visible and gives the fish a more scaley look.

"I went to Disney world with my family when i was about eight years old. There was a booth in the center of Main Street, where someone was lampworking using the crochet technique. That was it for me, it was magic. I spent hours that first day, constantly begging my parents to still be left there to watch, thankfully they agreed! Since then I've been facinated with glass and its movement".

I See The Water...
When I look at your fish I have the sensation of seeing the water floating around and past them... that's amazing! And beautiful. :-)
