borosilicate glass beads, pendants, and jewelry made by 23 year old glass artist LLuvia Brito. Working in boro for the past 4 years, glass for 10 years. Borosilicate sculpted flowers have been my real passion, they quickly evolved from six petal sunflowers to multi-layered dahlias. I've been working on these flower designs and styles since September 2002. They are my favorite because of the freedom and creativity involved. I use a Bethlehem Barracuda torch, OG-15 oxy generator, and have a small bead kiln. I use Glass Alchemy and Northstar colors in my work.

Recently I have become a full time student at NAU and have shifted my glass work to part-time. I still hope to continue to devote lots of time and creativity to my work, however I might not have as much available! I am studying sociology and hope to eventually find a position working with an advocacy or human aid group. I would love to work in Latin America. However, I have a feeling that where-ever life takes me lampworking will always be part of m

Borosilicate Beads

Borosilicate Beads

One of the most important parts of working with hard glass is "playing" with all of the wonderful colors and possibilities each one offers. This gallery includes most of the colors I've used in each bead. You might notice the large quantity of different designs used throughout these beads, part of the nature of my relationship with glass is a short attention span. I love to discover new techniques, however I hate to do any of them over and over.

Borosilicate Jewelry

Borosilicate Jewelry

Jewelry made from borosilicate glass beads, gemstones, and Bali findings. This year jewelry design has become much more prominent in my life. Recently a set of jewelry made by me was shown in a local gallery exhibition and I've begun to sell my work in galleries in Arizona.

Borosilicate Pendants

Borosilicate Pendants

I make pendants two ways, first if making the pendant and doing a glass loop and second is attaching the pendant to a bead loop.

Sea Turtle Pendants

Sea Turtle Pendants

I can't say that I'm going for a true to life style here, but I love to abstract the features of sea turtles, especially the shells! I don't make these often, the 'turtle shell' takes quite a bit of time but I love them!

I sell my beads and sculpted flowers via Etsy, my user name is Uvanomos. You can also purchase my work at the West of the Moon gallery in Flagstaff, AZ and Animas Beads.

I am 25 years old, and have worked with glass for 12 years, getting my start when I was just 13 years old. This is now my 4th year working with borosilicate glass and I am still immersed in what feels like a fresh budding passion every time I create.

I'm now a full time student at NAU pursuing a degree in Sociology with a minor in jewelry metalsmithing. I will be paying for my education through the sale of my work. I really appreciate the support of all of my customers and glass enthusiasts! Besides glass & school, I love to Hike in the Grand Canyon!

Beautiful!
Your work is truly inspirational (no I'm not going to try to copy it). It is nice to find other AZ lampworkers. If ever you are in Tucson I would be honored to do a collaboration piece.
