mission : I encourage people to find great joy in creating art without anxiety of failure. I hope when someone sees my work they will be inspired to pick up a rod, or pen, or musical instrument and begin to create. Sometimes people see the art of masters and become frightened to create anything for fear of failure. They miss out on the joy of creating. The creative process is a generative endeavor, much like eating, breathing, or exercising. It is close to what meditation does connecting man with spirit. Look at this wonderful practice, of creating art. Begin to practice. I am timid and shy about sharing my creations with the world. My hope is that by doing this others will think, well if she can do it so can I. If a person wants to learn something new, and they commit to making their new art form 100 times the 100th will have something that the 1st one didn't have and they will have gained pleasure from the process.

I'm posting here because I want to encourage other people to start making glass sculptures with soft glass. I'm thinking once you see my sweet clumsy beginning works you may think, "Hey, I could do that!" All the flaws and awkwardness of a neophite. There is nothing wrong with being a beginners so why not join me in posting your first attempts. My project is to create 100 mans sculptures, and I'm figuring the 100th will be a lot better than the first. I'll post periodically.

After studying at the Scuola Bubacco with Lucio this past February I made a promise to myself and to Lucio that I would not pick up a mandrel to make a bead until I have made 100 men sculptures at which time I will send Lucio a photo of my 100th man. I have since named this self imposed assignment " the 100 mans project " because I still can hear my cousin one night as she waved out the window saying , "Oh worker mans! worker mans hello ~~ woo ~~ oh worker mans." we were driving past yes you guessed it, the worker mans as they worked at night under those bright lights that the worker mans use when working on roads at night.

Hey ya'll this is Amoret Phillips also known as Amozoo my shop ~ RGP ~(really great place) is located in Raleigh, NC. My website domaine name is Fire Kissed Glass and my web blog is www.moltendiva.com I've been a bead maker for about 4 years and just moved into the world of sculpture. My focus is soft glass worked with a torch. I especially like the color palate of moretti and am finding it a nice challenge to learn the properties of soft glass and to learn how to create objects that don't explode! thanks for stopping by.
