My love affair with glass began nearly three years ago in my home studio located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I spent the first two years melting soft glass of all kinds. The endless possibilities and range of expression that I can achieve in glass continues to entice me. I enjoy creating delicate, feminine florals but also love to explore organic, casual shapes.
In my most recent work, experimenting with Borosilicate glass, I have re-discovered the remarkable marriage between art and science. The only other time that I have felt this relationship was during my training as a Commercial Pilot. Flying an aircraft is most certainly an exercise in both art and science … but that is a story for another time!
Every day that I am able to spend at the torch I feel privileged. Working hot glass is a passion that continues to grow and helps me to thrive.
