ech "We were somewhere near Barstow on edge of the desert..."

My work is influenced by many things but chief among them is my use of mind altering substances. I'm also influenced by my fears, my anger and my utter distaste for humanity as a whole. On the other hand if you see something that looks similar to your own work then chances are you have influenced me. Thanx for checking out my work.

Art Nouveau Perfume Bottle

Art Nouveau Perfume Bottle

Sandcarved Bottle with Art Nouveau motif. I've been perfecting several color schemes, other than the traditional luster colors, that lend themselves to sandcarving and this is one of the better ones.

Approx. 8in tall

Thanx fer Looking.

Timorus Hymenopterus (Ant of my fears)

Timorus Hymenopterus (Ant of my fears)

Once when I was a child my parents and I stopped on the side of the road in Jamaica so that my parents could buy something from a local artist. I was standing there for some time not noticing that I was slowly being covered by tropical ants. When they reached the top of my head they all started biting at once. I was instantly filled with formic acid and got covered in welts. Ever since then I see ants in my nightmares they as represent my fears.

It measures approximately 6 inches by 6 inches 4 inches. The head, abdomen and thorax are hollow. I used Raven, Mystery Aventurine, and Atlantis Sparkle.

Thanx for looking.

Graal Steal Your Face Jar

Graal Steal Your Face Jar

This jar is the first piece of graal work i have accomplished since I took the class with RAM in January. It took me a while to aquire all the necessary equipment and materials and then it took me a couple of tries to get it right. My biggest problem was that my printer did not prnt in a high enough DPI. Many more graal vessels are coming. Thanx for looking.

Mickelsen Workshop

Mickelsen Workshop

These are the peices I made at the Robert Mickelsen Workshop at Revere Glass Academy. I had an awesome time there. Everyone made me feel comfortable and there endless demos by RAM, and Suellen Fowler. Dustin, who is on a distinguished path, is bringing in world famouse artists to teach at his studio. This is a great place to take a class. Check out their schedule.

flat lapped Jar

flat lapped Jar

This is the first thing I made with my new flat lap. It is a little jar. It is Amazon Night coil potted and trailed with pomagranite. I just made some random cuts and I put it back in the flame to bring out the oil-on-water effect.

Art Nouveau Face Vase

Art Nouveau Face Vase

Much of the psychedelic art that adorned concert posters in the 60's was based on the Art Nouveau movement. This style of psychedelic art persists among the jambands of today. Being an old psychedelic ranger myself I guess its only natural that I've been strongly attracted images such as this as content for graal.

Sandcarved Jar Series

Sandcarved Jar Series

These are the first in a series of sandcarved jars. The name of the series is call, "Primary Intentions".
If your familiar with the Federal Statutes regarding drug paraphenalia then you know what is meant by "Primary Intentions".

Two of these jars can be seen in the Fall 2007 issue of The Flow.
Thanx for looking.
