Now begin the implosion process. Use gravity and the torch to work those dots into the clear tubing.

Open a hole in the end of a 3/4’’ medium wall section of clear tubing.
|
Place a row of dots on the outside edge using color of your choosing. Every dot within a single row should be the same size.
|

Apply another row of dots both on the inside edge of the tubing and below the first row.
|
Apply the 4th and last row. Thing’s to consider as you are making your dots…Keep your tubing up to temp. to prevent cracking and so that your color rod adheres properly…Lay your dots in between each other.

Keep at it until all the color is melted in and the hole in the tube closes. It is important to maintain a slow and steady rotation going throughout the entire process. This will help ensure an even, well shaped pattern.

Using 6mm rod punty up to your piece. Your punty should be well centered and able to break free with relative ease. Now separate the pattern from the tubing.
|
The best way to do this is by heating the section of tube right above the pattern. You then slowly blow until the glass becomes thin enough for your flame to "Tear" through.
|
Now you need to melt the excess glass into a magnifier lens.
|
|
Be careful not to trap any air bubbles while doing this.
|
The rounder your piece the better the optical effect. Take your time and even use a marble mold if needed.
|
There you have it…One finished "Cedar Rose". From here you can make it into a pendant, marble or anything else you can think of. Have Fun!
