had an idea of what I wanted the glass and the wire to be doing with each other. Was majorly displeased, so i set the idea aside for a while to let it breathe

the glas here was blown seperately, adding the wire after annealing
paint is applied to the wire, coper wire is interlaced into some of the pieces. Glass is set aside

the first two that I see some success in. the light that is hitting the walls is very pleasing.

I did alter the wire a bit, cutting it in places allowing the glass to blow out and kidney in places. This is alluding to the wire being more of a metaphor of restraint, or emphasizing it?

with these new lanterns I blew the glass directly into the wire, having to do very little manipulation. Allowing the wire mold shape do the work, the wire and the glass were annealed together

while in the presentation, the surroundings balance the piece enough not to make the lanterns over the top. The adding of wire creates cavities and gaps, the lattice of the chicken wire hints at the idea of something almost molecular.
