Martini glasses for the serious drinker. These have 5" openings and would probably fit a triple martini.

So we just found out that my wife Shelly is pregnant. It was on April fools day, so that was fun to let our families know. I am so excited! Yesterday I made our child's first gift. I will probably give it to him/her when they are out of highschool or something like that. I'll be able to say that I made it for them the day after I found out we were going to have them. It was fun to make it. I used it as a chance to really meditate on what it will be like to be a father and how much of a gift it is. So I put a lot of good energy into this piece.
There are a few things wrong with it that I decided not to fix. For one, everyone has a few problems, it adds character. And another reason is that when I was getting towards the end, two raccoons started fighting (or making crazy rough love) above my shop in a storage loft. I ran out and dealt with them. Now it will become part of the story that goes along with the glass.
So I hope you like it. I've never done a Goddess style before, but

This is a glass that I made as a gift for the head of the Dept. of Tourism for the state of Idaho when he retired.

I completely messed this one up. I added one of the eyes in slightly the wrong spot and then I cracked it and had a hard time trying to save it. Now it's a dribble glass :) But I decided to go ahead and throw the handle on it anyways. As far as screw ups go, it isn't too bad I guess. Maybe I'll go back and try to save it, but I doubt it. It will probably just end up as an anty in the next poker game.

A few of these got taken out in some wind gusts that came through the tent at our last show.

The Dr. that gave this horrible boob job is catching a beating (you can see his bloody nose) in the bottom of this martini glass.
Okay, Okay, it's not the best, but I thought it was funny.

This is the good life. A blazing sunset outlining the trees around you. An entire forest silhouetted against the sky. And in the stem is the little cabin to sit in while you enjoy it all.
I had made the top to this quite a while ago and didn't know what to do with it. Recently I had to get more work to a gallery and didn't have much inventory so I found the foot that I hadn't used and decided to make a stem with some old murrini that would match the top well. Hope you like it. The forest completely encircles the goblet top.

They were working it in front of the camera...that's why there are so many different poses.
So I didn't realize that traditionally there is no handle on a saki set....oh well.

The one on the left has the date and their initials with a heart between them. Ahhhhh how sweet.

I may not be the best goblet maker to ever work with glass, but I really love how these turned out.
Both glasses and the stopper have nice vortex's.

This was my very first attempt at anything like this. WIne glasses aren't my expertise.....yet. But I am experimenting, and it is a blast.

Here is a set of wine glasses and a stopper that I made for one of my old high school music teachers.

The set with the wine stopper began as an oil lamp. The stopper and stems of the two glass were legs for the lamp. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I dropped it after working on it all day, so I took the pieces and made these.

This oil lamp is kind of cool, but the pieces don't really match up as well as I thought....so I am going to take it apart and do something else.
