Preying mantis mounted on a briar stalk, all made of Effetre (104 coe) glass with a sprinkling of Thompson enamels. Stalk measures about 7.5 inches tall, although I haven't yet made a base for this piece. Undecided as of yet to make glass base, or mount on wood.

Wesley Fleming, glass sculptor
Wesley is inspired by the shapes and colors of nature as well as his wacky imagination, spending much of his spare time exploring under rocks and logs outdoors. With his glass insects, Wesley mimics actual species with intricate detail. In other pieces he conjures creatures from dreams and his inner reality.
Wesley has been working with hot glass for 9 years and is represented by galleries around the United States. His work can be found online at: www.wesleyfleming.com
