Andrew Jackson Pollack is a faculty member at The New Orleans School of Glass and is offering full day workshops in his Atlanta studio. Space is Limited. Learn how to manipulate glass rods and tubing in the flame, to sculpt and blow glass like you have never imagined. These one day workshops are a real treat, as Andrew resides in New Orleans. He has scheduled a number of these workshops for 2005 at an amazingly affordable price. In these he focuses on small sculpture and surface design explored through beads. Beginning with the ancient technique of winding glass onto a metal rod, students get a feel for this unique medium. Once a foundation is built, larger medallion/pendant beads and sculptural animals are investigated. Andrew gives students an outline or general formula for working with glass, as opposed to a step-by-step presentation. Glass is all about problem solving, and there is no one way to do anything in this medium. The possibilities are limited only by your imagination.
