At Lucid Visions we strongly believe that volunteering our time, resources and creativity is essential. We are currently working in conjuction with Art with a Heart, a non-profit art program. Art with a Heart provides ill or injured children with a personalized art experience that enhances the healing process and brings joy and hope to patients and their families. Their vision is to Heal children's bodies and spirits through art. Art with a Heart works through Wolfson children's hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. We are currently installing a large scale, lighted, glass sculpture to be unveiled on September 20th at the Jacksonville, Florida, Childrens Commission building. This project is made from glass and each glass piece has been hand decorated by over 300 children from the children's hospital.

We really think this is one of our most important pieces that we have been a part of. The project idea that was realized was our greatest collaberation. Actually involving children was a very special part to us. All of the children involved, 300 + with the age ranges of 6-19 years usually spend their days in many varied conditions at Wolfson's childrens Hospital in Jacksonville Florida. The following pages and pictures document the children's experience as well as ours as it was designed and constructed. We would like to take the opportunity to thank the following artists for their emense help, for which this project would not have been a possibility. Micah Evans, Ross Bratlee, Lori Guadagno, Lisa Landwirth Ussery, and Kerrie Slattery. Please visit www.artwithaheart.info to learn more about this amazing non-profit.

This is the first project we worked on with Art with a Heart. We were intially only going to do the dichroic jewels that would go around the crown, (7 total), but we ended up helping out on the paper mache armor and the painting of the manatee. All the pieces are out of paper mache, cardboard, rope, shells, pvc piping and of course borosilicate glass. The manatee will be on display in downtown Jacksonville during the Superbowl and then on permanent display at Wolfson children's hospital on the sky walk downtown. This was one of two made in conjunction with Art with a Heart Foundation.
