This is an experimental glass installation that I did for a recent art show called Lollypops and Handgrenades. Kevin Engleman assisted me on this live demo.
I had been thinking for a long time about an installation that could only be made in place and was too delicate to ever move and the theme of this show seemed to fit with that idea so I started brainstorming what form this project might take on. I really wanted to do this for the first time the night of the show because I was interested in displaying to my best ability all the aspects of the glass including its fickle nature. So, with my goal being a good demonstration of the nature of glass and the physics that rule my world of working with glass, I let those factors determine the form of the piece more than anything else, including aesthetics. The project inspired me and I think there will be more to come from these ideas. Kevin told me it inspired him also.
I've included some pictures of other work that was in the show.
