Potek glass is a studio comprised of Malcom Potek and Kara van Wyk. They specialize in kiln-formed glass. Malcom has an excellent eye for color and design. He finds inspiration in the Bauhaus movement and post-modernism as well as Japanese woodcut prints by Hokusai. Malcom also has skills as a lampworker and creates custom canes and murrini. Kara is a painter, and adept at using both high and low firing paint in her work.

I have created design sets of sconce lighting in a renovated theater as well as private residences. I have also done ceiling light shades. All UL listed hardware is custom made by a local business.

I have a series of striped color studies that each have 10"x10" dimension. These pieces also available as a flat tile that can be framed in a steel frame, (see "camoflauge" piece)and hung on a wall.
