Thanks for taking a look at my work. I began working with glass in 1999 in Seattle. I am currently working in Miami Florida, but will soon be relocating to Austin Texas. My style seems to be undergoing a major shift in the last couple of years, sorry i haven't put up much new work. As my new series starts to solidify I will post new work as it comes. I hope to have a bunch of new stuff when set up in Austin.
All of the work below was made from late 2001-2005

These are some small versions of my circle bottles with a dropper.

These vases represent my most recent montage work, I am trying to push my limits on scale and complexity while keeping the overall impact of the piece pretty simple.

These pieces are sectional meaning the pieces are removable, the joints are all sandblasted for a tight fit.

my first workshop I ever took was from Robert Mickelsen. In this workshop he made a comment about technique, while technique is valuable it can also hold you back from true expression. By concentrating too much on technique you in essence handcuff yourself to that technique. In the cage series I am trying to express a multitude of feelings and emotions by concentrating on design and simplicity in sculpture. I have always felt confined either in my studio or in everyday life as an artist, these pieces arean attempt to express that feeling of confignment and eventual release of expression.

I started making these bottles years back, every now and then I make one. I love orchids because of their individuality, I never make existing orchids I try to make them up as I go.

These galleries have goblets that are meant to be used, wether for wine or desert they are all sturdy and sit well in the hand.

The reeds i have been making lately are completely Florida. Growing up in the foothills of the Cascade mountains in Washington state I was used to pine and sage. In Florida the plants are lush and constanly growing, the humid air and sun feed a constanly changing and blossoming ecosystem that I found rewarding to explore in glass.

While these goblets will hold liquid their size and shapes make it inpractical. Some figure work and some venitian inspired.

I have been working with Bonnie Seeman, the ceramics Professor at the University of Miami, helping her with glass pieces to add to her amazing ceramics. These are not collaborations, I am given a design, then I develop prototypes and then final pieces. I just thought I would share the pictures of her work with her permission of course. I made her pomegranet seeds for a lot of her work and I just started making ribcages and muscle strands as well. the glass is very small scale, the largest pot is 12 inches tall max.

I have yet to do a teapot, but maybe starting a gallery for one will motivate me! I have made a couple of pitchers as teapot prototypes that turned out pretty cool!

This was a fundraiser at habatat gallery to benefit the University of Miami Hot Glass program. there was a silent auction and a live auction, it was a lot of fun and the glass was top notch.
