2004 Art Glass Invitational - Demo's and demo's and demo's and then a party at the end to celebrate all the demo's. I had such a great time, as did everyone else who attended. The next one will be even better - I can't wait! Pics by Derek M.

Northwest Artists Colab - May 21-23 2004 @ Emmetts Studio in Seattle, WA. Thanks to Tom @ NS, Generations Glass, Colored Sands, ABR, Profound Glass for contributing materials. In attendance was Nathan Miers, Justin Wells, Lee Newbury, Hel, Tom from Northstar, Emmett, Daniel (redashesglass), Zeus, and a few others who stopped by for a few minutes (sorry again if I left anyone out). It was a fun learning experience, mainly how to organize 10 working lampworkers, but we had loads of fun, nonetheless.

Everything we made here between approximately 12 artists was auctioned and sold off, and all of the sales went to the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund.

2005 Mickelsen Graal Workshop This was a great class, and Robin is a great instructor. During the workshop, I moved along pretty well, and I attribute that to the perfect balance of praise and constructive critisism from Robin. I also successfully completed the "Glass, Grass, and Ass Weekend" hosted by my friend BT. Also attending the class was Kyle, Tom, Micah, James and Brett.

What a great weekend! I never get many epic pictures at these events as I am usually just running around missing all the good shots, but I'll try harder next time. ;o) It was pleasure to meet those of you I didn't know yet. --- Marble/Paperweight category: 1st-Sabina Boehm, 2nd- Nathan Miers, 3rd-Matt Geisler. To see other category winners, see the EGS school website.
Thanks for looking! Hopefully next year AGI and the Flame-off won't be on the same weekend - it's gonna be hard to choose!

Jason McGhee and I went to Boise Idaho for a little glassblowing roadtrip. Filip Vogelpohl and the Boise Crew opened a new gallery in downtown Boise called the Boise Art Gallery. The opening was on the 7th of September, and there were demo's, live music, free food and booze. The place got packed, but Jason and I kept the torches going.

With experience from his graphics arts background, Nathan passionately orchestrates the shapes and colors in his marbles to achieve pieces that will uplift and brighten the day of the viewer.
In his spare time, Nathan enjoys teaching private classes from his studio in Garberville, CA, and can occasionally be found blowing glass live via his streaming webcam at eyecandyarts.com/TV.
