At California College of the Arts, we don't play. Travis S., Michael Patton, Zak Timan, Alex Selvin and Ben Brown bust out The Monolith, an absolutly ridiculously-sized cup. Enjoy.

An experiment in faceting- Ya'll pipers were makin me jealous. These were egg-forms made offhand. Then each faceted was grinded down freehand ( in other words no holding arm) on a 220 lapwheel, hand lapped (not on a lap-wheel, just a glass plate with grit on it, basically rubbing your piece back and forth) to 400 and 600, and then pumice and cerium wheel to polish. A lot of work, but a lot of fun. I think it would have been a lot faster if I had those polishing mats and holding arms that I've seen, but I don't. Sucks to my as-mar.

These are most of the pieces I made during my first session at the Sonoran Glass Institute. I have labeled them in the order that they were made-either beginning (first couple weeks), middle (middle weeks) or end (the last work I made before stopping for the summer). Thanx for looking!

These are random pieces I did in 2004. I sent these slides and some more non-glass sculpture slides with my application to California College of the Arts.
And they accepted me! I will be starting school in the Fall as a freshaman Furnace Glass Blowing Major.
Much love to everybody that has helped me get this far!

I made this diorama two years ago for an art class in high school. The project was to make a diorama that utilized perspective and all that goes with it. If you can't tell, it is a punk rock show at a venue with a balcony, where you are sitting right behind a mohawked man.
Flameworked glass, paper-mache, construction paper, popsicle stix and paint. Thanks for looking

Nice work Zak
Hey Man, nice work, good to see some of what you do. I think you gave me a call earlier this winter, I've been traveling a bit. Ring me up if you want to go up to Tahoe some time. Keep up the good work.
